BY STALast week, SpaceX added another important entry in the history books by successfully landing the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship at sea for the second time. The landing was perhaps even more important than the first successful landing in April since the rocket's re-entry into into the Earth's atmosphere was much faster, and harder to pull off, this time around. 

SpaceX and the company founder and CEO Elon Musk tweeted important details and pics throughout the whole mission, as always, but footage and photos of the actual landing were dark and blurry. Now, SpaceX has treated us to a new set of photos on Flickr, showing the rocket's condition on te morning

Xiaomi Mi Max With 6.44-Inch Display, Fingerprint Sensor Launched

Xiaomi at its Tuesday event in China unveiled its new MIUI 8 ROM. The Chinese company apart from the new ROM also revealed the new Mi Max smartphone.

The new Xiaomi Mi Max featuring a massive 6.44-inch full-HD (1080x1920) 342ppi display will be the biggest smartphone in the company's lineup in terms of screen size. Xiaomi in a tweet, wrote, "Meet #MiMax, our largest smartphone yet."

The Xiaomi Mi Max sports an all-metal body and will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver colours. The smartphone comes with slim profile of 7.5mm. The new phablet from Xiaomi also features a fingerprint scanner which is located at the rear panel.

Xiaomi has announced that the Mi Max will be available in three variants - CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,000) for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model powered by a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor; CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,000) for the 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, and a third model priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,500) for the 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and powered by Snapdragon 652 processor. 

The Xiaomi Mi Max sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel front camera also on board with 85-degree wide-angle view, and a f/2.0 aperture. 

The dual-SIM handset supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Mimo. It is backed by a massive 4850mAh battery. It features a hybrid SIM tray. It measures 173.1x88.3x7.5mm and weighs 203 grams.

The smartphone sports an infrared emitter to act as a universal remote control, apart from an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensor.

Delta engine cover fell off at 28,000 feet

There are some things that we all know exist, but prefer to never see — like dead bodies, cold sores and the engines on airborne planes.
Passengers aboard Delta flight 762 experienced a shock when an engine cover fell off their plane mid-flight on Sunday afternoon, according to local news
The flight from Atlanta to Chicago hit turbulence and had to mak an emergency landing International Airport after the right engine's outermost cover — or cowling — fell off at 28,000 feet.
Cabin lights came on about 45 minutes after takeoff when the cowling came off, striking part of the fuselage.

The pilot declared a state of emergency and landed at Nashville without any additional problems.
The Boeing 717 taxied to the gate and the flight's 109 passengers walked off the plane, with no reported injuries.
Passengers were provided food and beverages as they waited in the terminal for another aircraft, and Delta reached out to passengers "with a gesture of apology," the airline said.
The flight continued onto Chicago three hours later.
"Delta will fully investigate this episode as the safety and security of our customers and employees is always our top priority," the airline said in a statement.
